You have made some significant headway in the graphic novel Persepolis. Take some time and reflect over what you have read. What are some things that occur to you as you've been reading the book? What questions do you have? How does knowing what you know about the Islamic revolution in 1979 affect your understanding of the text? Do you like the book? What do you think will happen next? Provide a thorough reflection over what you've read.

For your third IRC I would like you to choose a book that informs you about a culture that you are not familiar with. You can make a number of arguments as to how your book might do this, but here's a link to a website with a great selection of multicultural/global literature.
Books for Expanding Global Understanding Copy the link below and paste it into your videonot.es. Then take notes over the video. You can annotate with questions you have, things you think are important, or things you don't understand. Then we will watch Edward Snowden's interview with Brian Williams from May, 2014. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yB3n9fu-rM What do you think of Edward Snowden? Is this man a hero or a traitor? What should be done about Edward Snowden? Should he be extradited? Should he be actively pursued? Should he be allowed to return to the United States without consequence? Write a blog that works through your thoughts and feelings on this issue.

On pages 84-85, Faber claims their society is missing three things that people need to be happy. "Number one, as I said: quality of information. Number two: leisure to digest it. And number three: the right to two carry out actions based on what we learn from the interaction of the first two." In a blog post, explain what you think this means using references to the book. Then consider the society we live in today. Do we have all three of these things? Are we really happy as a society?
Check out these resources from Kids' Right to Read and then write a blog on your website responding to the following prompt:
